Your city needs a travel Tweetup

For newbies, the travel industry can be daunting. It seems like everyone already knows each other and if you don’t have the cash or the company backing to attend conferences, it can feel nearly impossible to get a foot in the door. Thankfully Sydney doesn’t have this problem, we’ve gone tribal.

Sydney Travel Tribe, a monthly meeting of travel and technology lovers, was initiated by World Nomads and Travellr.com as a way to bring travel professionals together. This “Tweetup” style event is organized through Twtvite.com, but has a very strong non-Twitter following as well. Having OTA’s, backpacker brands and travel techies all in one place makes for some pretty interesting conversations.

Video demo of Twtvite.com:

If you are a travel brand, I suggest you host one of these monthly tweetups. It’s great for brand exposure, plus it’s totally free! If you are new to the industry or looking to make some new travel friends, I suggest attending the next tweetup in your area.

If you’re in Sydney, come meet the tribe!

Don't forget to mention travel bloggers - you don't need to be a techie to come along to Travel Tribe :)

    Oh yeah... THOSE guys!
  • It was great night had by all, I met some awesome characters who I can (and have been) following now on twitter.

awesome! Wil you join us again? I just added you on Twitter, it was great to meet you.
  • Great to meet you too. I'm leaving to start the 'digital nomad' lifestyle on June 9, so if the next meet up is before that, then I'll be there.
